Ross A. Riskin, CPA/PFS, CCFC is an Assistant Professor of Taxation and the CFP Program Director at the American College of Financial Services. In addition to teaching courses in taxation and designing engaging online educational experiences, Professor Riskin’s research and professional expertise focuses on tax planning with respect to college and student loan advising. He also serves as the Vice President of Riskin & Riskin, PC.
Professor Riskin is recognized as a leading expert in the areas of college planning and student loan advising and he is the author of The Adviser’s Guide to Education Planning: 1st Edition, which is published by the AICPA. Professor Riskin has presented to over 10,000 individuals through webinars, conferences, and in the classroom, and has been quoted in media outlets such as the Wall Street Journal, Forbes, US News, WalletHub, and CPA Practice Advisor, and his work has been published in the Journal of Financial Planning and the Journal of Accountancy.
He received the 2017 CPA Practice Advisor “40 Under 40 Award,” the 2016 CTCPA Accounting Educator of Excellence Award, the 2015 AICPA Personal Financial Planning Standing Ovation Award, and the 2015 CTCPA New and Young Professionals to Watch Award. In addition to being a CPA/PFS and Certified College Financial Consultant (CCFC), Professor Riskin received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting degree from Fairfield University, a Master of Science in Taxation degree from Bentley University and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Business Administration in Finance Degree at Sacred Heart University.
