Nigel is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), and a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA). As Vice President of ALM Finance - Financial Reporting, he oversees the reporting function of Prudential Financial Inc. (PFI or Prudential) General Account investment portfolio. He and his team are responsible for preparing the investments and fair value disclosures and footnotes within the PFI 10Q/K, and Prudential’s other legal entities stand-alone financial statement filings. Nigel is also responsible for the oversight of certain controllership functions within ALM Finance, including related SOX compliance, and internal controls. Nigel recently completed an overseas assignment as Head of Accounting and Finance at PFI Mega Life (PML), an Indonesian Insurance joint venture. Nigel was a member of the senior management team and was responsible for all accounting and finance activities, including but limited to financial and regulatory reporting, budgeting and forecasting, and accounting operations. During his time at PML, Nigel built an operating model focused on improving the availability and accuracy of information for management decision making and improving organizational effectiveness. Prior to his most recent assignment, Nigel was Vice President-Financial Reporting for Prudential International Insurance’s Asia ex-Japan region, and was primarily responsible for U.S. GAAP financial reporting for operations in Korea, Taiwan, India, and Malaysia. While in this role, Nigel spent significant time in Prudential’s Malaysia JV operations supporting the CFO in reshaping the accounting and finance function. Prior to joining Prudential in 2014, Nigel held leadership roles at Standard Chartered (Head of Financial Reporting and Accounting Operations, Americas Region), Morgan Stanley (Vice President, Internal Audit) and KPMG (Senior Manager, Audit – Financial Services). Nigel has served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Harlem Symphony Orchestra, and as the Director of the Professional Development Committee of the National Association of Black Accountants NYC Chapter (NABA NY). He was awarded the NABA NY Professional Member of the Year in 2017. Nigel graduated from Hunter College, where he is a member of the Athletic Hall of Fame. During his time at Hunter, Nigel was a two-time National Champion and five-time All-American track and field athlete. For recreation, he competes in triathlons, plays golf, and rides a motorcycle.
